Reading F's

Fairy tales are fabulous books to read for the letter "F".
There are also books called "fractured fairy tales" which
are stories that use the fairy tales you know and change the
characters, setting or story a little as in "The True Story
of the Three Little Pigs" as told by Jon Scieszka.

Of course, you can find quite a few books about fish,
flowers, food, friends and frogs . . . plus books with fun
characters like Fancy Nancy, Flat Stanley and Fly Guy.

"Fraidyzoo" by Thyra Heder is a fine book I read this summer.
This picture book is the story of a little sister who remembers
she was frightened of something at the zoo the last time her
family visited it, but cannot remember what it was. So her
creative family helps by imitating every animal from A to Z
until she recalls exactly what caused her fear.

And "Fantastic Mr. Fox" is the story of a clever fox
and his family that your whole family might like to
read together.

Have fun reading!
Love, Grandma
